The Public School Choice process was managed through the Intensive Support and Innovation Division. The Public School Choice Initiative was supported by the Los Angeles Unified School District's Investing in Innovation (i3) grant. Several of the partners in this work included Unite-LA/Chamber of Commerce, the United Way of Greater Los Angeles, and USC.
Approximately 52 "focus" schools (those in the bottom percentile of low performing LAUSD schools) and 42 newly established "relief" schools (new campuses built to ease overcrowding in schools that have been mostly operating on year-round calendars) have participated in this process.
Currently, PSC schools are continuing to participate in the School Review process.
