Dear LAUSD Special Education Community,

As we are adapting to the new challenges brought forth by COVID- 19, we wanted to reassure our community and all of our stakeholders that LAUSD is committed to supporting students with disabilities during this difficult time.

We have drafted responses to a series of frequently asked questions. Please click to access the FAQs. In addition, our Related Services and Instructional Support teams are working diligently on devising a plan to provide alternative support options to students in accordance with social distancing requirements. More information will be forthcoming as plans are finalized. Please continue to utilize the resources available on the Division of Special Education website.

Effective this year the direct number, fax number, and email are no longer available.

Welligent Support is now part of the IT-Help Desk and is considered tier 2 help. Every call received to the IT-Help Desk will be assessed to determine if it is a tier 1 or tier 2 issue. Our contact number is 213-241-5200 (Option 4).

Tier 2 issues may require a longer wait time. Therefore it is recommended that you use the online ticket system for non-urgent issues by going to

The State Performance Plan (SPP) is a six-year plan submitted to the U.S. Department of Education, Office of Special Education Programs (OSEP) by the California Department of Education (CDE). The current SPP spans Federal Fiscal Years (FFY) 2013-2018. This document will be updated once the new SPP is made available.

The Modified Consent Decree (MCD) requires that the District conduct the District Validation Review (DVR) in all schools with special education programs.  For the 2019-2020 school year, selected schools will be reviewed in each Local District.
