What is GoPass
Los Angeles Unified is partnering with LA Metro to offer TK-12 students a GoPass with unlimited rides at no cost on Metro buses and trains, as well as 17 additional participating transit partners throughout LA County. Using the special GoPass TAP card provided by your student’s school, your child can ride for free to and from school and on trips after school and on weekends, now through September 30, 2025.
How it works:
Activate your GoPass:
Activate your TAP card at taptogo.net/gopass. Wait at least 1 hour after activating the card to ride.

How do students get a TAP card?
Your school’s front office can provide you with a TAP card and activation code.

If a student is brand new to Los Angeles Unified, how do they get a TAP card?
Any students who enroll at Los Angeles Unified after the initial TAP card distribution can ask their school for instructions on how to get a TAP card.

What do I do if my student loses or damages their TAP card?
Contact your school administration for a replacement card and new activation code. Then come back to taptogo.net/gopass to activate your new card number. The original TAP card will be deactivated.

What should students do if their card isn’t working when they tap it?
Make sure to register your TAP card by visiting taptogo.net/fareless before you try to use it. If you register the card but don't tap it within 21 days, you can get the pass re-loaded by calling 866.TAPTOGO (1.866.827.8646) M-F, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm

With an active GoPass TAP card, you can enjoy unlimited free rides on Metro bus and rail, AVTA, BurbankBus, City of Commerce Transit, Culver CityBus, Foothill Transit, Glendale Beeline, GTrans, LADOT Dash, La County Shuttles, Lawndale Beat, Long Beach Transit, Lynwood Trolley, Montebello Bus, Norwalk Transit, Pasadena Transit, Santa Monica Big Blue Bus and Torrance Transit.
