Challenge Los Angeles is a seven-week competition in which teams of students from various Los Angeles Unified School District high schools are challenged to develop solutions to complex problems facing their communities. The activity is designed to promote civic responsibility; leadership skills; inter-peer collaboration; and engagement with experts, entrepreneurs, and global visionaries among students. This year, challenges were presented at the kick-off event on January 21, 2017. Students heard challenges in areas such as financial literacy, healthy relationships, hidden hunger, youth vote, and foster students achievement. Solutions to the Challenges will be presented to a panel of judges on March 11, 2017.
