Welcome to the Teacher Training Academy (TTA) website!

We are committed to providing quality professional learning and support to teachers participating in our orientation, professional development, and certification processes. TTA provides trainings to newly certified and alternatively certified teachers and substitute teachers in Los Angeles Unified School District. In addition, TTA provides training and professional development for participants seeking provisional certificates and intern status to best prepare them for the classroom experience. Trainings are designed to prepare participants that are new to LAUSD with the necessary skills to best support our culturally and academically diverse student population. The TTA provides the following differentiated trainings throughout the year:

• New Teacher Orientation (NTO) for alternatively-certified general education and special education teachers.
• Substitute Teacher Orientation (STO) for substitute teachers new to LAUSD.
• Tailored Special Education support for teachers new to Special Education.

All trainings and orientations engage participants by utilizing adult learning theories and support the learning and growth of inter-generational pool of teachers hired and assigned to our schools. Facilitators model research-based teaching practice in the areas of culturally responsive pedagogy in content, instructional delivery, and classroom management.
