What are Zones of Choice?

Zones of Choice are a part of LAUSD's efforts to increase the number of personalized educational options for students. Instead of having a single assigned resident school, students living in a Zone have a number of school options. Students rank their options in order of preference, and then are assigned to a school based on their rankings and the available space at each school.
