Whole Child 2 - An Integrated Data Perspective
Launched in 2019-2020, Whole Child 1 broke new data ground in providing teachers and school leaders with a unified platform that integrated students' entire data constellations into cohesive, insightful perspectives. An egalitarian approach to data, it encouraged leaders to look beyond snapshot metrics by illustrating school-wide learning trends alongside students' most current individual data points. The District's 2022-2026 Strategic Plan made Whole Child an integral part of Pillar 4: Operational Effectiveness, recognizing the value of Whole Child as a vital tool for supporting distributive data leadership for all schools.
Whole Child 2 is the new, revised platform that has replaced Whole Child 1. As with Whole Child 1, Whole Child 2 is designed and developed at the code level by LAUSD educators for LAUSD educators. The new interface is simpler, more consistent, and provides increased agency for all users. The Data Champion Initiative team continues to develop this growing platform, and the project benefits from the continued feedback of the Data Champion community.
Whole Child 1 is now no longer available. Users who navigate to https://wholechild.lausd.net will be redirected to the new Whole Child 2 ( wholechild2.lausd.net ). Principals, assistant principals and roster-carrying teachers have auto-provisioned access to Whole Child 2; other LAUSD employees who wish to obtain access to Whole Child 2 should place an access request via https://oneaccess.lausd.net. Please note that prior access to Whole Child 1 does not automatically confer access to Whole Child 2. Questions or comments may be directed to the LAUSD Data Champions Initiative team:
