2024-2025 TAS SPSA

  • Title I Targeted Assistance Schools (TAS) use funds received only for programs that provide services to eligible students identified as having the greatest need for special assistance. Eligible children are identified by the school as failing to meet the state's challenging academic achievement standards.

Targeted assistance schools use the program resources to implement effective methods and instructional strategies that are based on evidence-based research to help participating children meet the state's challenging academic standards. TAS should provide extended learning time, an accumulated, high-quality curriculum, and minimize removing children from the regular classroom for supplemental instruction. Highly qualified teachers in a TAS receive professional development on how to implement academic achievement standards in the classroom. TAS programs work collaboratively with parents to increase parental involvement through services such as family literacy.
