Superintendents Retirement Reception
A ceremony honoring this year's retirees was hosted at Ramon C. Cortines School of Visual and Performing Arts. Our Food Services staff had the honors of catering the food and drinks at the reception. We truly appreciate all of you for your service and dedication to make this event a success!
"Every Day Heroes"
A ceremony honoring the Everyday Heroes Outstanding Classified Employees from April 2018 - March 2019, as well as the nominees for Exemplary Employee of the Year was held on May 29, 2019. Rogelio (Roger) Gonzalez, Food Service Manager at Los Angels Elementary School, was one of the top eight nominees for LAUSD's Everyday Heroes. We celebrate and congratulate Roger!
LAUSD received over half a million dollars in rebates!
As Food Services Division identified equipment requiring replacement, we also recognized an opportunity to do our part to assist our environment. The steamers selected and installed in nearly 100 cafeterias are considered environmentally friendly or “green” due to the minimal gas and water usage required. As a result, LAUSD received over half a million dollars in rebates!
