Telecommunications Service Priority (TSP) Designation Awarded to LA Unified

Telecommunications Service Priority (TSP) Designation Awarded to LA Unified Sponsored by the United States Department of Homeland Security, TSP is a program that authorizes national security and emergency preparedness (NS/EP) organizations to receive priority treatment for vital voice and data circuits. The TSP program provides service vendors a Federal Communications Commission mandate to prioritize requests by identifying those services critical to NS/EP.

A TSP assignment ensures that LA Unified will receive priority attention in the restoration of voice and data circuits by service vendors before the general public.  In the event of a disaster or outage, with this designation, LA Unified will be among the first to have communication capabilities restored.  This designation is crucial as LA Unified is responsible for the safety and welfare of approximately 700,000 students and over 60,000 employees and is an integral partner in the regional emergency preparedness and response for Los Angeles County.
