Arts Integration is...
The seamless weaving of Arts Content within the teaching of other Core subjects. The collaborative, project based learning emphasized in Arts Education links directly to the all State Standards. By integrating Arts skills, concepts, and knowledge our students develop the four identified 21st Century skills of:
- Communication: Sharing thoughts, questions, ideas and solutions
- Collaboration: Working together to reach a goal –
- Critical Thinking: Looking at problems in a new way, linking learning across disciplines
- Creativity: Trying new approaches to get things done equals innovation and invention.
Integration between core subjects leads to interactive, memorable presentations that make meaningful, real world connections for our students.

Arts Education is...
a rich array of disciplines including dance, music, theatre, media arts, literature, design, and visual arts. Discreet Arts Education in the Visual and Performing Arts is an essential element of a complete and balanced education for all students. The State of California has designated the Visual and Performing Arts to be a core subject that should be taught in the K-12 curriculum.
