Principals

  • LAUSD Principals not only oversee academic and operational procedures, but as a leader of a school site they serve as critical actors in increasing parent and community engagement.

Parent, Community & Student Services Accountabilities

  •
Principals are required to provide four academic trainings to their parents in order to meet one of the goals of the Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP). Certification of delivery of the trainings will be required inside of the Principal’s Portal under the Parent Community Student Services Certification page. This page will become live on the Principal’s Portal next month. One of the four trainings, one on LAUSD’s changing graduation requirements and one on the School Report Card (coming soon), must be provided to parents before the end of February. Presentation materials for LAUSD’s changing graduation requirements and other trainings are provided by clicking the subtitle above. Please watch for additional training materials which will be provided for principals in the Principals’ Brief over the coming months. The remaining two trainings, which can be on a variety of topics, must be provided before the end of the 2014-2015 school year. Data will be collected for the LAUSD LCAP from the Principal’s Portal.
