  • ADULT TEACHER HOURLY RATE SCHEDULE
     
    The 2024-2025 table reflects a 4% increase over the July-December 2024 rates
     
     

    • All teachers new to the Division of Adult and Career Education start on step A. 

    • A teacher must work 734 hours and complete 30 hours of staff development in one year in order to advance to the next step. 

    • Step increases become effective on July 1st of each year.
     
    • To be eligible for step 4, a teacher must work 734 hours in each of ten consecutive years.
     
    • To be eligible for step 5, a teacher must work 734 hours in each of fifteen consecutive years.

  • Step Advancing from Step “A to Step “B” 

    To advance from Step “A” to Step “B”, the candidate must apply in writing, have been paid on the (THR) salary table for 734 hours and completed 30 hours of Staff Development activities within the current school year. Up to ten (10) hours of the 30 hours required may be used for teacher observation.

     

    Step Advancing from Step “B” to Step “C” 

    To advance from Step “B” to Step “C”, the candidate must apply in writing, have been paid on the (THR) salary table for 734 hours and completed 30 hours of Staff Development activities within the current school year. Up to five (5) hours of the 30 hours required may be used for teacher observation.

     

    Step Advancing from Step “C” to Step “1” 

    To advance from Step “C” to Step “1”, the candidate must apply in writing, have been paid on the (THR) salary table for 734 hours and completed 30 hours of Staff Development activities within the current school year.

     

    Step Advancing from Step “1” to Step “2” 

    To advance from Step “1”to Step “2”, the candidate must apply in writing, have been paid on the (THR) salary table for 734 hours and completed 30 hours of Staff Development activities within the current school year.

     

    Step Advancing from Step “2” to Step “3” 

    To advance from Step “2” to Step “3”, the candidate must apply in writing, have been paid on the (THR) salary table for 734 hours and completed 30 hours of Staff Development activities within the current school year.

     

    Step Advancing from Step “3” to Step “4” 

    To advance from Step “3” to Step “4”, the candidate must apply in writing, have been paid on the (THR) salary table for ten consecutive years as described in Article XXI, Section 4.7b (1).

    The candidate must have also completed 30 hours of Staff Development within the five

    (5) years immediately preceding the school year in which the 4th Step is to become effective.

    Final determination is based on the teacher having been paid for 734 hours and completion/submission of the required professional development activities.
