Empowering Young Men for Success
The 5000 Role Models of Excellence Project is a transformative mentoring initiative dedicated to guiding young men of color on their journey toward academic success and personal achievement. Through a network of caring mentors, the program instills values of integrity, discipline, and resilience, providing students with the tools they need to overcome challenges and build a brighter future. By fostering meaningful relationships and offering opportunities in education, career readiness, and leadership development, 5000 Role Models empowers Los Angeles Unified students to achieve their fullest potential and contribute positively to their communities.
Our goals are designed to ensure that the youth of Los Angeles Unified are empowered with the knowledge, skills, and experience needed to excel academically, socially, and personally, while fostering self-confidence, self-respect, and a sense of belonging in their communities.
Goal #1: Connect at-risk boys with caring, successful mentors from their own communities, creating supportive relationships that inspire and guide them toward a brighter future.
Goal #2: Educate program participants about the risks of negative influences and societal challenges, while offering positive alternatives that encourage healthy decision-making and personal growth.
Goal #3: Build a robust program infrastructure that equips Role Models with the tools to mentor and prepare young men to overcome challenges, achieve success, and become leaders in their communities.
