Credential & License Renewal Information

To learn how to renew your authorization, select the appropriate option below:

Credential/License Type
- Provisional Intern and Short-Term Staff Permit

Provisional Intern Permit and Short-Term Staff Permit are non-renewable documents. Please reach out to the Credentials and Contract Specialist, listed on your renewal notice, for assistance.
- Clear Pupil Personnel Services Credential

If your credential is set to expire in over three weeks:
- Renew your credential online by visiting the CTC website at: www.ctc.ca.gov
- Check the CTC website one week after renewing to ensure it has been granted and email your Credentials & Contract Specialist notifying him/her that your renewal has posted.
If your credential is set to expire in under three weeks, please complete the above steps AND:
- Complete form: Renewal Affidavit
- Complete form: Application for Temporary County Certificate
- Email completed forms to the Credentials & Contract Specialist listed on your renewal email
CAUTION: When applying for your renewal through the CTC website, please be sure NOT to apply for or renew a Certificate of Completion or Activity Supervisor Permit. Doing so will result in you paying for a non-reimbursable authorization and will be required to submit an additional payment for the correct credential.
- Preliminary Administrative Services Credential

If you have completed your program and are ready to clear your credential:
- Reach out to your program sponsor and request they submit your recommendation to the CTC
If you have NOT completed your program and:
- Need to file for and extension reach out to the Credentials and Contract Specialist, listed on your renewal notice, for assistance
- Have remaining time left on your Administrative Credential, reach out to y the Credentials and Contract Specialist, listed on your renewal notice, for assistance
- Clear Administrative Services Credential

If your credential is set to expire in over three weeks:
- Renew your credential online by visiting the CTC website at: www.ctc.ca.gov <<linkup
- Check the CTC website one week after renewing to ensure it has been granted and email your Credentials & Contract Specialist notifying him/her that your renewal has posted.
If your base credential is set to expire the same time your administrative services credential is, you must renew both credentials simultaneously
If your credential is set to expire in under three weeks, please complete the above steps AND:
- Complete form: Renewal Affidavit
- Complete form: Application for Temporary County Certificate
- Email completed forms to the Credentials & Contract Specialist listed on your renewal email
CAUTION: When applying for your renewal through the CTC website, please be sure NOT to apply for or renew a Certificate of Completion or Activity Supervisor Permit. Doing so will result in you paying for a non-reimbursable authorization and will be required to submit an additional payment for the correct credential.
- Licenses: Speech-Language Pathologist, Recreational Therapist, Psychiatric Social Worker, Occupational Therapist, Physical Therapist, Registered Nurse, Psychologist

For Speech-Language Pathology License:
- Renew your license. Information available at: CA Speech-Language Pathology & Audiology & Hearing Aid Dispensers Board (https://www.speechandhearing.ca.gov/licensees/renew_info.shtml) <<linkup
- Complete form: Request for County Registration – Clinical Rehabilitative Services License – SLP
- E-mail completed form and copy of renewed license to the Credentials & Contract Specialist listed on your renewal email.
- Must hold a valid Certificate of Clearance (COC) or another valid Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC) issued document. You can verify if you have a valid document or apply for a COC at www.ctc.ca.gov.
For Recreational Therapist:
- Renew your license. Information available at:
- California Board of Recreation and Park Certification (www.cbrpc.org)<<linkup
- National Council for Therapeutic Recreation (www.nctrc.org)<<linkup
For Psychiatric Social Worker:
- Renew your license. Information available at: CA Board of Behavorial Sciences (www.bbs.ca.gov ) <<linkup
For Occupational Therapist, Physical Therapist, Psychologist, and Registered Nurse:

- Complete form: 30-Day Substitute Renewal Affidavit
- Complete form: Application for Temporary County Certificate
- Email completed forms to the Credentials & Contract Specialist listed on your renewal email

- District Intern Multiple Subject, Single Subject, or Education Specialist Credential

If you are enrolled in the LAUSD District Intern program:
- Contact the LAUSD District Intern Program at DistrictInternprogram@lausd.net or call 213 241-5466 for information.
If you are enrolled in the Los Angeles County Office of Education (LACOE) District Intern program and have completed all program requirements:
- Contact LACOE District Intern program regarding them applying for your preliminary credential. Contact info: Amy O’Neal at oneal_amy@lacoe.edu or call at 562 940-1617
- Request that your principal complete the Non-Confidential Reference Form form and email it directly to the Credentials & Contract Specialist listed on your renewal notice. Emails received from anyone other than the site principal will not be accepted.
- Contact the Credentials and Contract Specialist, listed on your renewal notice, to schedule an appointment to renew your intern contract
If you have NOT completed all your District Intern program requirements:
- Contact LACOE District Intern program regarding them applying for an extension on your intern credential. Contact info: Amy O’Neal at oneal_amy@lacoe.edu or call at 562 940-1617
- Request that your principal complete the Non-Confidential Reference Form form and email it directly to the Credentials & Contract Specialist listed on your renewal notice. Emails received from anyone other than the site principal will not be accepted.
- Contact the Credentials and Contract Specialist, listed on your renewal notice, to schedule an appointment to renew your intern contract
- University Intern Multiple Subject, Single Subject or Education Specialist Credential

If you have completed all your University Intern program requirements:
- Contact your university’s credentialing office and inquire about processing for the preliminary credential.
- Request that your principal complete the Non-Confidential Reference Form form and email it directly to the Credentials & Contract Specialist listed on your renewal notice. Emails received from anyone other than the site principal will not be accepted.
- Contact the Credentials and Contract Specialist, listed on your renewal notice, to schedule an appointment to upgrade your contract.
- Request official hardcopies of your transcripts to submit to the Salary Allocation Department. They will not accept electronic transcripts.
If you have NOT completed all your University Intern program requirements:
- Contact your university credential office and inquire about the process for appealing for an extension
- Request that your principal complete the Non-Confidential Reference Form form and email it directly to the Credentials & Contract Specialist listed on your renewal notice. Emails received from anyone other than the site principal will not be accepted.
- Contact the Credentials and Contract Specialist, listed on your renewal notice, to schedule an appointment to renew your intern contract
- Preliminary Multiple Subject, Single Subject, Education Specialist Credential

If you have completed a program and are ready to clear your credential:
- If you’re enrolled at a University, reach out to your program sponsor and request they submit your recommendation to the CTC.
- If enrolled in the LAUSD Induction program contact Christina Mendez at christina.r.mendez@lausd.net or Terry Martinez at maria.t.martinez@lausd.net or call 213 241 – 4252 and leave a message.
If you have NOT completed your program and need assistance in filing for an extension:
- Contact the Credentials and Contract Specialist, listed on your renewal notice, for assistance with appealing for an extension.
- Clear Multiple Subject, Single Subject or Education Specialist Credential
