Teacher Training Academy (TTA) provides a New Teacher Orientation (NTO) to alternatively credentialed teachers in LAUSD. The 30-hour remote training provides an orientation of LAUSD’s student population and district policies while also imparting proven pedagogical strategies adapted to a diverse student population. Topics include culturally responsive pedagogy, lesson planning, classroom management, and differentiation for our Special Education and English Language Learners. In addition, remote learning models are introduced, such as Zoom, Google Suite, and Schoology, and learning apps like Kahoot, Nearpod, and EdPuzzle. Candidate teachers demonstrate mastery by successfully completing assessments.
