The Career Ladder is pleased to announce the Building Our Own Staff as Teachers (BOOST) Program. BOOST is a grant funded program and is authorized by the Commission on Teacher Credentialing's California Classified School Employee Teacher Credentialing Program. The California Classified School Employee Teacher Credentialing Program addresses the state’s teacher shortage in STEM, special education, bilingual education, and transitional kindergarten. New to the program are supports in the areas of physical education and the performing arts.

BOOST members may be any classified school employee who has completed a minimum of 60 semester units or has earned an Associate of Arts degree or higher and would like to become a teacher in an identified area of need. Members are supported in their undergraduate education, professional teacher preparation, and certification as credentialed California teachers through individual mentorship, financial assistance, and test preparation. Members may receive up to $4,500 annually. The current grant award provides funds from July 1, 2022 to June 30, 2027.
