History of EDST
Responding to a pressing need, the LAUSD Board of Education passed a resolution in April 2009 calling for the creation of a Teacher Effectiveness Task Force (TETF) to examine successes and challenges related to employee performance and development. The TETF was comprised of
educators, labor representatives, and parents and together developed recommendations in five areas:
- evaluation
- targeted support and development
- tenure
- differentiated compensation
- legislation
Focused on the first two recommendations, the District has designed its evaluation systems to be based on multiple measures to support continuous growth and development.
