How do I download an encryption certificate for my web browser?

Different web browsers handle incoming and outgoing data differently and may require a special security to function properly on the District's network. The District has in place a system called Green Desktop which checks computers on its network and ensures that the proper security certificates are in place, so most users don't need to worry. If you are having problems with a browser, however, and want to check, you can install the Green Desktop tools by going to our Web Filter Certificate page.
 
You can also find individual security certificates to install for Google Chrome, Mozilla FIrefox, Microsoft Internet Explorer, and Apple Safari (all of which are available for download for free). You can ensure that your favorite web browser is current and will function properly in the District's environment by selecting the corresponding certificate to download and install from the Web Filter Certificate page.
