Effective September 26, 2023, the Los Angeles Unified Board of Education rescinded its COVID-19 vaccine mandate. This action applies to all charter schools authorized by the Los Angeles Unified Board of Education regardless of charter school location, including District sites or non-District sites.

Los Angeles Unified will stop requiring any Los Angeles Unified-authorized charter school, regardless of charter school location, to certify and submit any formerly applicable Charter School COVID-19 Vaccination Compliance Certification to the District. Staff and stakeholders from independent charter schools are encouraged to contact their school's leadership and/or governing board for additional information related to their school site.
