Immerse your student in the world of arts with our Cultural Arts Passport Program (CAP), supported by the Expanded Learning Opportunities Program (ELOP). Designed for students in grades TK-12, this program provides an array of immersive arts experiences beyond the school day. Through collaborative efforts with local art institutions and venues, CAP ensures every student has equal access to diverse artistic opportunities. From immersive arts instruction to production experiences, audience engagements, and exhibit viewings, we aim to nurture a deep connection between students and the arts. By participating in CAP, students not only enhance their literacy skills but also develop critical thinking abilities and problem-solving capabilities. Join us as we foster a love for the arts and empower students in their creative journey!
Please note the Cultural Arts Passport program is NOT funded by Prop 28.

What is the Cultural Arts Passport?
On June 15, 2022 LAUSD presented the Cultural Arts Passport (CAP) Plan as part of the 100-Day Plan report. LAUSD's Cultural Arts Passport program was an innovative educational initiative designed to provide students in grades K-12 with a variety of cultural arts experiences with a focus to bring students off campus. The CAP program is focused on the arts and all experiences are connected to Visual and Performing Arts standards.

Why are we doing the Cultural Arts Passport?
Los Angeles is home to culturally rich arts and entertainment venues underutilized by the students and families we serve. Under-represented communities of need have limited access to cultural arts venues. Field experiences that expand classroom learning, inspire, motivate and reinforce lifelong learners. Enrichment opportunities enhance learning, creative expression and the love for school and life.
-
Who will have access to the Cultural Arts Passport?
All LAUSD students TK-12 have access to Cultural Arts Passport funds (including affiliated charter).
-
How is this program funded?
The Cultural Arts Passport is funded by Expanded Learning Opportunities Program. It is NOT funded by Prop 28.
-
How is this program related to my child's education?
Through cultural experience trips, arts experiences and interdisciplinary classroom instruction, students make connections between the arts and non-arts disciplines while developing literacy, critical-thinking and problem-solving skills.
