Chief Information Officer
LAUSD's Chief Information Officer is Soheil Katal, an enterprising, innovative, solution-focused IT leader, responsible for:

ITS is a multi-functional team, led by the Chief Information Officer, that oversees the technology architecture for the nation’s second-largest school district. ITS plays a crucial role in supporting the District’s educational and administrative functions for over 1 million users across 1,324 schools. The Division supports the District's core instructional mission with efficient solutions to facilitate high-quality instruction to foster each student’s path to college and career readiness.
Within this broader goal, the team maintains a functional student information system, provides IT support to schools and offices, and aligns technology with District strategic initiatives. ITS is responsible for ensuring that technological resources are effectively integrated into the District’s operations to enhance learning, streamline administrative processes, and support data-driven decision-making.
