Facilities Legal Services Team

  • The Facilities Services Team provides legal support in all aspects of the work carried out by the Facilities Services Division in connection with the identification, evaluation and acquisition of real property; the development and construction of new facilities; and the maintenance and management of existing assets; as well as the administration of a $20 billion New Construction and Modernization Program to develop, build and upgrade LAUSD schools. 

    Our Team members utilize their specific expertise in a variety of facilities-related areas, including energy, environmental, land use, real estate, construction and project labor, and access compliance.  The work of the Team includes structuring, negotiating, and drafting complex real property transactions for real estate acquisition, development, leasing, joint-use, and management.  Additionally, the Team represents the District in numerous civil court actions, administrative hearings, and arbitrations and mediations involving property acquisition, construction, contract administration, labor compliance, and environmental cost-recovery.
