I am honored to represent the East San Fernando Valley as your School Board Member. By working together, we can ensure that every child in Los Angeles has access to an excellent public education.

We have the incredible privilege here in LAUSD to make dreams come true. With your support and partnership, we can become a district where:

• 100% of our students graduate ready for college and careers;
• Our schools welcome and embrace the diversity of our students and their families;
• Our teachers and principals are heard, empowered, and supported so they can reach their full potential; and
• Our work is centered around the unshakeable principle that we put the needs of kids and families above all else.

BOARD MEMBER KELLY GONEZ'S LAND ACKNOWLEDGMENT RESOLUTION PASSES UNANIMOUSLY

I'm proud to share my resolution acknowledging the harm caused to the Gabrieleno Tongva, Fernandeño Tataviam, and other local tribes by the California public education system passed unanimously on November 13th, 2024. This resolution is a commitment to honoring the first peoples of Los Angeles and creating lasting change. From developing a public land acknowledgment to reimagining our spaces and curricula, LAUSD is dedicated to elevating Indigenous histories, voices, and contributions. Together, we can build a future rooted in justice, respect, and understanding. Read through the resolution below to learn more.
