The Office of Environmental Health and Safety (OEHS) has developed a plan to provide safety services to schools and administrators at the beginning of the new school year. Plans for specific populations have been developed based on need and the ability to successfully disseminate this information to them. This initiative will address new schools opening this year, first-time principals and existing schools/principals. This effort is being conducted as a constant exercise in meeting the needs of our customers while meeting the mission of our office.
We have created a Back-to-School Safety Checklist to guide administrators through the essential safety requirements that every school must meet. For additional information, please contact us at (213) 241-3199.Injury & Illness Prevention Plan (IIPP) Template
LAUSD facilities are subject to a variety of health and safety requirements intended to ensure the health and safety of students and staff. All District facilities are required to implement an Injury & Illness Prevention Program (IIPP) dealing with workplace safety. The Office of Environmental Health and Safety (OEHS) has issued the IIPP Template to assist Site Administrators in the preparation of this required document. All Site Administrators are required to review and update their existing IIPPs consistent with the OEHS IIPP Template. In addition, OEHS has developed an IIPP Training (PowerPoint) to assist Site Administrators in providing the required training to their staff. Inquiries on the IIPP may be directed to OEHS at (213) 241-3199
